This weeks lunch lecture is given by Tennet!
Keeping the lights on and making electricity available anytime, anywhere, at the touch of a button. That is our mission. With our 99.99963% security of supply, we are one of the best network operators in the world. Every day, we provide 17 million people in the Netherlands with safe and reliable electricity. TenneT, as also being the grid operator for the offshore wind farms in the North Sea, has been for the past 10 years expanding the offshore high voltage grid. On January 31st, during storm Corry, a 190m bulk carrier drifted into a wind farm field and collided with a jacket steel substructure for a TenneT substation. How to deal with such a situation and how to assess the severeness of the damage? Is the structural integrity still there. In this presentation we would like to give you some insights in the approach towards this rare situation and some high lights of the damage assessment.
Hope to see you there!
