Leading Foot Technology is a company located in Nijverdal. The company offers a complete solution for treating foot conditions by offering the hardware, software, and production required to produce personalized insoles. During my internship, I was involved in a project that focused on transitioning from milling technique to additive manufacturing. This project will allow for on-site production at, for example, podiatric centers and reduce overall waste. A custom printer, including software and filament, was developed in cooperation with FELIXprinters, Innovative Engineering, and BASF. The printer is designed solely for manufacturing insoles. For my assignment, I looked at possibilities for testing both the insoles and the material. Possibilities were explored, setups were designed, a test plan was written, and material tests were performed to aid the material development process. As the printer is to be launched in the near future, there are a lot of possibilities for further research.
