This week, JPE will host a lunch lecture!
JPE is a leading center of expertise for precision engineering, which specializes in the development of custom state-of-the art systems for industrial and scientific applications. These systems typically require highly accurate positioning in challenging environments such as ultra-high vacuum or at cryogenic temperatures. During this lecture Robin Trines (mechanical architect at JPE) will present the design of a kinematic sample interface which was custom developed as part of a vacuum tribology tool. After design, building and testing the interface it was shown that a test sample can be mounted with a 6 DoF position repeatability of 10 nm.
