CUBE Workshops

As the first news message from the 69th board of W.S.G. Isaac Newton, it is very fitting to be about our pride and joy: Cornerstone #1, Practical Activities.

All our CUBE workshops have come to an end. Over the course of three weeks, more than 40 workshop sessions have been filled by enthusiastic members. The first pictures have already been uploaded—be sure to check them out! Across the three separate sessions, beautiful dice were milled, stunning chess queens were turned, and gorgeous rocket stoves were welded together.

These projects show that there is a strong desire to experience mechanical engineering on a more hands-on level than just studying from a book. We hope to be able to provide these types of workshops more often. In the near future, we will organize a stick welding workshop with the WOT, where, once more, we can experience the cool, practical side of mechanical engineering.

We want to thank the personnel of the CUBE for their hard work, their time, and their patience when something had to be re-explained for the third time. Without their help, none of this would have been possible!
