The 68th Board has been constituted!
On the 5th of February 2024, the 68th board of Werktuigbouwkundig Studiegenootschap Isaac Newton, had the pleasure of becoming board! It was a majestic week with lots of events and a time to never forget. But first, how did we become board?
Candidate Period
It all started at the candidate reveal where we had to present ourselves to the association in anticipation of becoming board. But before that happened a lot of activities were still to be begun. The candidate board had to represent the association by having coffee dates with other associations and get to know their active members by engaging in almost every activity. Besides that, they must write a policy that they will present to the GMA.
Change GMA
The change GMA is the place where the new board gets charged and the old board is discharged. It is a long and exhausting GMA, in the first half of the GMA the old board presents their year's evaluation and all the written letters. This went quite smoothly, and the new board was charged on time to still bras at the Daedalus Cobo. After some fierce brassing, the board went back and presented their policy and budget. There were good in dept critical arguments but eventually after three hours or so, the GMA ended and the next exciting day was on the brink of starting.
Cobo
For some a relaxing day with introduction lectures, for others such as the new and old Newton boards, it is the happening of the year. But before we will discuss the Cobo, let's start off with the battle of the boards. This is a tradition where the old and the new board decide which board is the best board. Many tubes of mayonnaise, brown beans and yoghurt on our clothing it was ultimately decided: The 68th board is the undisputed best board! With this achievement in the pocket we went to prepare for the Cobo. As the Cobo begun to fill up, we made the traditional staircase photo and walked in serious fashion to the podium in Diepzat. We enjoyed every moment of the Cobo were very pleased with everyone who came to drink beer and congratulate us!
Last words
We are really excited to run the association the upcoming year and are very pleased with everyone that comes in for a chat once in a while, doing a committee or providing any other help to keep the association running. We may run the association, but you are the one that makes the association so epic! Thank you all for that and we are happy to see you come by anytime!
