Aeronamic 2

Aeornamic B.V. (formerly UCN Aerospace) was founded in 1988 as a part of UCN (Ultra Centrifuge Nederland), now ETC (Enrichment Technology Company). They are a supplier and service provider for high-speed aircraft subsystems and components. As a vertically integrated company, they aim to provide the entire process of manufacturing steps. This means they have many specialized processes in-house, including manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining parts.

Another focus of Aeronamic is the development of new products. One product currently in development is an E-compressor of which Aeronamic is the single source supplier. This part's function is to cool the avionics, galleys and in-flight entertainment systems. While under development new parts for this product need to be developed and produced. For this purpose, the production process needs to be mapped to gain an overview of how the new part is made to ensure an orderly workflow through the factory and to possibly make the whole production process more efficient.

This project was done within the department of manufacturing engineering, with a team of engineers, who were always happy to help. Furthermore, because Aeronamic is a relatively small company, the corporate culture meant that everybody knew everybody which improved the communication between the people on the work floor and the engineers, ensuring that it was always possible to ask for help from anybody when needed.

All in all, Aeronamic is a great company for an internship due to its friendly people and the possibility to work on amazing technological projects.
