Feadship is a prestigious group of yacht makers. The group delivers fully customizable super-yachts. These yachts are thought up, designed, and manufactured mostly in-house. This ranges from the shape of the hull to the pneumatic system and electrical systems. The engineering department is located on the yard itself. This makes for a small distance between engineering and product, creating an efficient feedback loop.

In my internship I analysed the waste heat of the exhaust system. This waste heat is currently often dispersed into the atmosphere due to its low quality. I compared different solutions and systems to see whether the energy could be used on board. These incorporated technologies should be able to use waste heat in the specified temperature ranges, be of small size, and be suitable for the rolling conditions often found on ships. The different technologies are compared to climate, and operating condition specific loads. Using an optimization program, the best solution is found and proposed to the company.
