The Netherlands Institute of Patent Attorneys (Orde van Octrooigemachtigden) is the professional organization of all Dutch patent attorneys. As a patent attorney you are the source of information and an advisor for your clients. You help inventors to protect their inventions with patents. Patent attorneys are busy with drawing up and defending patents, as well as giving advice in potential infringement cases for example. During the lecture, we will first give a short insight into what a patent exactly is, what the requirements are for obtaining a patent and we will give a short workshop to really get a feel for the work of a patent attorney.
