ADSE Hoofddorp
Conceptual design of a cooling system for a fuel cell
During my internship, as part of the Master Energy & Flow, at ADSE (Aircraft Design and System Engineering) I studied thermal solutions for a hydrogen powertrain-based aircraft. Hydrogen-powered flight is a hot topic and the necessity for developments in aircraft design is urgent. ADSE is a Dutch company that focuses on developments in the major transport sectors among other aerospace, with a system engineering approach as its backbone. I enjoyed my time at the company, characterized by a friendly atmosphere, proper guidance, and an ambitious team. The internship allowed for an interesting and relevant research topic with the flexibility to adjust the assignment to the needs of the company and the intern. During my three-month stay, I learned a lot about aircraft systems, thermal management, and systematic design. Additionally, I developed a model and constructed assessment criteria for a case study. I can only recommend an internship/assignment at ADSE.
