AmperaPark 1
During my internship, I’ve worked for Amperapark, a company that develops solar carports that operate under smart-charging schedules. This is achieved through the energy management system (EMS). In this EMS, a method was already in place for minimization of operational costs. Amperapark was curious to develop a method for minimization of operational emissions and gave me the task of adding an emission objective function to the EMS. So I’ve worked in Python to develop this, but also did literature research on life cycle analysis to acquire realistic emission data for the assets in the EMS. I combined this emission objective with the cost objective and evaluated how this would change the costs, emissions and general behaviour of the EMS and to see what the potential is of this method.
